Line Cook

Job Title: Line Cook

Ms Tiffin is Vancouver’s go-to destination for inspired Indian street food and comforting confections. We bring together traditional flavours and modern techniques in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen where consistency and care matter.

 

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Line Cook to join our back-of-house team. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of commercial kitchen experience, strong attention to detail, and a passion for preparing high-quality food in a clean and organized environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and prep procedures

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils

  • Ensure all food is handled and stored in accordance with Food Safe regulations

  • Work closely with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service

  • Maintain consistency in portion sizes, presentation, and quality

  • Assist with daily prep and inventory tasks as needed

  • Follow health and safety standards at all times

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen or similar fast-paced food service environment

  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 Certification (must be current and verifiable)

  • Ability to take direction and work efficiently under pressure

  • Strong work ethic and reliability

  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

  • References required

Prep Cook

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Wage: $17.85 Per Hour 

 

About the Role:

We are hiring a Prep Cook to support our kitchen team with daily preparation of ingredients and components across our menu, including chaats, curries, snacks, and sides. This is a key behind-the-scenes role focused on efficiency, consistency, and safety.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Wash, chop, portion, and store vegetables, proteins, and mise en place

  • Prepare sauces, batters, and marinades as per standardized recipes

  • Label, date, and store ingredients safely to reduce waste and ensure freshness

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized prep station

  • Follow Food Safe and workplace safety protocols at all times

  • Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties as needed

  • Communicate inventory shortages or issues to kitchen leadership

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 1 year of kitchen experience in a commercial food service environment

  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 Certification

  • Ability to lift 20+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

  • Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail

  • References required

 

Front of House -- Service Staff

Location: Ms Tiffin – Vancouver, BC

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Wage: $17.85 Per Hour + Tips

 

About the Role:

We are looking for a warm and organized Front of House Server to welcome guests, manage dine-in and takeout orders, and maintain a clean and welcoming restaurant environment. This is a customer-facing role that sets the tone for the Ms Tiffin experience.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Greet customers warmly and answer questions about the menu

  • Take accurate orders for dine-in, takeout, and delivery

  • Handle payments and issue receipts

  • Package takeout and delivery orders neatly and verify accuracy

  • Monitor dining room cleanliness and restock FOH supplies

  • Check and sanitize restrooms and high-touch surfaces throughout the shift

  • Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth order flow

  • Provide friendly service with a calm and respectful attitude—even during rushes

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • 1 year experience in food service or hospitality

  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 Certification

  • Basic cash handling and POS experience preferred

  • Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset

  • Must be available for evening and weekend shifts

  • References required

 

Mithai Cook

Location: Ms Tiffin – Vancouver, BC

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Wage: $17.85 Per Hour

 

About the Role:

Ms Tiffin is proud to offer traditional and modern mithai, from rasgoolas and gulab jamun to seasonal specialty boxes. We are hiring an experienced Mithai Cook with a passion for Indian sweets, attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise recipes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare batches of mithai including syrup-based sweets, milk-based confections, and festive seasonal offerings

  • Monitor texture, color, and consistency of sweets during production

  • Follow food safety standards for boiling, cooling, storage, and packaging

  • Maintain consistency in portion size and presentation

  • Label and date products for inventory rotation

  • Clean and sanitize equipment and workstations thoroughly after use

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 1 year experience making mithai in a commercial or professional setting

  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 Certification

  • Strong understanding of ingredient handling, food temperature control, and hygiene standards

  • Ability to follow recipes with precision and repeatable quality

  • References required
